Sources: Lucas Matthysse Signs With Al Haymon

by Rick Reeno

According to multiple sources in Argentina, hard-punching junior welterweight Lucas Matthysse (33-2, 31KOs) signed a deal with influental adviser/manager Al Haymon. Matthysse is facing IBF junior welterweight champion Lamont Peterson (31-1-1,, 16KOs) in a catch-weight bout on May 18th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Going in Haymon's direction would certainly assist Matthysse, the WBC's mandatory challenger, in his quest to secure a fight with full WBC champ Danny Garcia, also handled by Haymon. However, Matthysse has a tough task ahead with Peterson.

Haymon signed Matthysse because he realizes he is the baddest man at 140 pounds. Happy for Matthysse. Hope he destroys Peterson. WAR! :headbang:

I think Al signed Matthysse so he can make a mega event out of Swift vs Matthysse and also make a huge profit, it's not to protect anyone, Swift would fight Matthysse and beat him I think, Matthysse ain't no…
