| Source: Golden Boy Grabs 11/17 on Showtime, Not TMT

By Rick Reeno A source with knowledge of the details has advised BoxingScene.com that Golden Boy Promotions has a hold on the date of November 17th on Showtime. According to the source, Golden Boy is planning to stage a significant event on the date. This past Sunday, BoxingScene reported that TMT Promotions were looking to stage their first event on the date of November 17th, on Showtime. The newly formed company, run by rapper turned promoter 50 Cent, is looking to do a doubleheader featuring Yuriorkis Gamboa (21-0, 16KOs) and Andre Dirrell (20-1, 14KOs). From what BoxingScene understands, a "deal is in place" for Gamboa to challenge Juan Carlos Salgado (26-1-1, 16KOs) for the IBF super featherweight title. Dirrell's rumored opponent, WBA interim-super middleweight champion Brian Magee (36-4-1, 25KOs), is not a lock. they're competitors now so for gbp to try to derail tmt's plans is somewhat expected. tmt's gain is gbp's loss and vice versa. |
