Thailand’s 35 year old, world rated super bantamweight Sod Looknongyangtoy (Kokietgym)) who has a record of 60-2-1 with 28 knockouts has retained his Asian Boxing Council title with a 3rd round knockout of the Philippines  Elmer Francisco (16-16-2, 4 KOs) who was ranked No. 6.

The fight card was staged at Bungnongkhai in Nongkhai Province, Thailand.

Thai boxing writer Damrong Sinakajornboon reported that fighters exchanged punches during an exciting first two rounds before the champion caught Francisco with a perfectly timed left hook to the Filipino’s jaw to score a one punch knockout at 1:29 of the third round.

Another Filipino, Roque Lauro also lost to WBO No.5 ranked mini flyweight 29 year old Pai Paipharob (Kokietgym) who has a record of 21-0 with 16 knockouts by a unanimous twelve round decision in a Asian Boxing Council interim light flyweight  title fight.

The former WBA interim 105 pound titleholder dominated the first half of the fight with his aggressive style and almost dropped Lauro with a big right hook in the fourth round.

However, Damrong reported that from the seventh round Paipharob looked exhausted and Lauro fought back with the more accurate punches.

However, Lauro was deducted one point for an accidental clash of heads which resulted in a cut over Paipharob’s eyebrow in the final round.

All three judges scored the fight for Paipharob. Prayuth Vongpraramet scored it 116-111,

Wirat Katasila 114-112 and Chaveng Krutkate  114-113.
