British contender Paul Smith (35-3, 20 KOs) is already studying up on tactics for a planned fight against WBO super middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (40-4, 28 KOs) on September 27th in Germany. Sauerland Event and Matchroom Sport are working out the details to finalize the venue. The O2 World in Berlin was being looked at, but the venue is already booked and Sauerland is on the hunt for a different host.
Smith was Carl Froch's sparring partner for the 2010 dominating decision win over Abraham in the Super Six tournament.
"Carl showed the perfect way to beat him, though I never thought I'd see it on the night as easy as it was for Carl," Smith told Sky Sports Ringside. "No disrespect to Abraham; I've said it time and time again, he's a great champion and he's going to be the hardest fight I've ever had and he's going to be the best opponent I've ever been in the ring with.
"But this is my world title fight as well and I am going to give it everything. I know my style is made for him but his style is made for me and the way I fight."
