Singleton vs. Nurse Heads To June 1 in Manchester

Coldwell Boxing today won the purse bid for Shayne Singleton’s maiden English light-welterweight title defence against Tyrone Nurse and the contest will take place on June 1st at Manchester’s Bowlers Venue. Singleton makes a swift return to the venue where he captured the belt last month when dethroning Curtis Woodhouse and the hard fights keep on coming as he puts his newly acquired strap on the line against another talented Yorkshire fighter.

“This is a fight that stood out for me and I think it’s a fight that will get everyone talking,” beamed Coldwell. “Singleton is a good kid and his fight with Curtis received plenty of attention in the boxing press and even though I didn’t agree with the decision, I will say that Shayne has plenty of balls and he’s willing to fight anyone. Nurse is a good kid who’s on the verge of taking that next step into domestic title class so we’ve got ourselves a quality little title fight with two young, hungry fighters. I can’t wait for it.”

Coldwell added, “I’ve got firsthand experience of what a Shayne Singleton fight feels like and believe me, it’s one of the best atmospheres in British boxing and I’m certain that his fans will be jamming into the Bowlers again on June 1st. Both these fighters genuinely believe they have what it takes to go a long way in this sport and they’ll be looking to prove it when they get in the ring. We’ve brought many great fights to Manchester in recent months and this is another one that you can definitely add to the list.”

SINGLETON V NURSE FOR THE ENGLISH LIGHT-WELTERWEIGHT TITLE TAKES PLACE ON JUNE 1ST AND ALSO FEATURES THE MANCHESTER DERBY BETWEEN FORMER BRITISH CHAMPIONS, DAVID BARNES AND CRAIG WATSON, AS WELL AS THE ENGLISH LIGHT-HEAVYWEIGHT BATTLE BETWEEN MATTY CLARKSON AND CARL WILD. PROVIDING SUPPORT TO THESE EXCELLENT CONTESTS WILL BE BARROW’S LIAM CONROY, MACCLESFIELD’S LIAM HANRAHAN AND THE PROFESSIONAL DEBUT OF LOCAL FAVOURITE, DANIEL BENSON.
