There are ongoing discussions to have a match between Jesus Silvestre (25-3, 18KOs), the interim-WBA minimumweight champion, and undefeated Japanese boxer Takuya Mitamura (12-0, 2KOs), for the full WBA championship. It appears that current champion Kazuto Ioka is going to move up in weight to pursue another title at junior flyweight. Canelo Promotions, who have Silvestre, are looking to stage a fight between their boxer and Mitamura on a Saturday date in October.
