Former WBC cruiserweight champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (49-3-1, 35 KOs) will receive the opportunity to get himself back in the title picture when he challenges WBA interim-champion Beibut Shumenov (16-2, 10 KOs) on December 18 at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas
The fight is set as the televised co-feature to the Premier Boxing Champions event on Spike TV.
As BoxingScene.com previously reported, Denis Shafikov (36-1-1, 19 KOs) and Rances Barthelemy (23-0, 13 KOs) will collide in the main event for the vacant IBF lightweight championship, which Mickey Bey dropped several months ago.
Shumenov captured his belt in July when he won a twelve round decision over BJ Flores.
Wlodarczyk has been inactive for over a year, losing a twelve round decision and his WBC title to Grigory Drozd last September in Moscow. The Polish fighter will be no easy task as that's the only fight he's lost since 2007 and he's never lost by knockout.
