Shocker: Sergio Thompson Stops Jorge Linares in Two

Oasis Hotel Complex, Cancun, Mexico - Returning for the first time since last October's TKO loss to Antonio DeMarco, "El Nino De Oro" Jorge Linares (31-3, 20KOs) was stopped in two rounds by hard-hitter Sergio Thompson (22-2, 20KOs). Thompson took the fight to Linares and started testing the former champion's chin and caught him with several good shots. By the end of the round, Linares started firing back with his own hard shots. In the second, Thompson rocked Linares with a variety of punches and put him down. Linares beat the count, looked hurt, and had a nasty cut open up above the left eye - and the fight was stopped.

Linares already had July rematch scheduled with WBC lightweight champion DeMarco in Los Angeles, but obviously that fight is now down the drain.
Who is saying that GBP set him up to lose? There is a difference between a setup and incompetence. Linares was undefeated confident fighter going into the fights. Now, he suffered a few set backs, coming back from getting cut up(did the cuts even heel properly?) and TKO...

Linares is the most talented boxer to ever underachieve so much.
Just because he ended up being right doesn't mean he wasn't biased. The doctor in the Klitschko-Lewis fight took much longer to stop it and the cut was like 10 times worse.
Ur arguing semantics. Who cares about the doc. He did his job and he was rite. This isn't a me...
