Shinzuke Yamanaka-Jose Nieves Set For August 12

By Rey Colon

Jose Nieves (22-3-2, 11 KO's) will travel to Japan on August 3 where on the 12th of that month he will be fighting for 118-pound title of the World Boxing Council (WBC) against champion Shinzuke Yamanaka ( 18-0-2 and 13 KO's). Nieves, ranked seventh, is trained by Jose Bonilla and his career has seen a resurgence by fighting in the state of Florida with the promotional company All Star Boxing, which is chaired by president Felix 'Tutico' Zabala. Nieves' last loss came in 2010 in four rounds against Chris Avalos.

Teiken have shown themselves too be the only Japanese promotional outfit too bring their fighters too the US so hopefully they do the same with Yamanaka.A fight with Moreno would garner some interest i'd imagine from the big tv networks
