Former IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter (24-1-1, 15KOs) is currently training in Las Vegas for his return to the ring. The Ohio native had hoped to be back in December for a third fight in 2014 but said that he will likely be back in January.
"I could be ready in December but I don't think we have a date or a big enough show in December for us to be on so we are going to push it back a little bit to January," said Porter.
Porter suffered his first career loss and lost his title in the process in his most recent fight which took place in Southern California against Kell Brook in August. Porter said that he has since refocused and has been a beast in the gym. He also said that he has a different mind set now and that it will be on display for the world to see in his next fight.
"I can tell you first and foremost, I just started sparring again and I can tell you that in the short amount of time since the fight I have definitely changed a lot of things I do in the ring and especially my mind set and thought process in the ring. I have definitely grown," Porter told BoxingScene.com.
