Shawn Porter Destroys Raul Pinzon in One Round

By Mark Vester

At the Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury, Maryland, a middleweight contest saw Shawn Porter (14-0, 11KOs) destroy Raul Pinzon (17-5, 16KOs) in the first round of an eight round fight. The fight took place at middleweight because Pinzon was very overweight at Thursday's weigh-in, coming at 161-pounds. Pinzon had nothing in the tank. He may have really struggled to make weight for a fight that was originally scheduled to take place at junior middleweight.

Porter was walking him down in the first round. Porter worked the body when he trapped Pinzon against the ropes. A lead right hand hit Pinzon right on the button and sent him down face first for the full count.
