Promoter Gary Shaw has advised BoxingScene.com that he's ready and willing to finalize a heavyweight battle of unbeatens between Bryant Jennings (17-0, 9KOs) and Artur Szpilka (16-0, 12KOs) for January 18th, on HBO, from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.

Jennings was scheduled to face Polish giant Mariusz Wach. After initially accepting the fight, Wach withdrew a few days later.

Soon after, Wach's countryman, Szpilka, began taunting Jennings in the press. Szpilka says he is ready to replace Wach, and face Jennings on the January date.

"I'm very happy that Szpilka stood up for all of the Polish people after Wach pulled out of the fight. I have great respect for the Polish people. The only thing is that I feel sorry for Szpilka, because in this case he bit off more than he can chew. He can have someone contact me, so I can send a provision of service, and give him his opportunity to appear on HBO. I just hope that he's not like Wach, where he agrees to fight and then backs out," Shaw told BoxingScene.com.

Shaw also apologized for comparing Wach, in an earlier BoxingScene article, to a Polish sausage - which is considered to be of the highest quality.

"I love Polish sausage. I apologize for comparing Wach with a Polish sausage, because a Polish sausage is of the highest quality," Shaw said.
