Shannon Briggs: Beyonce Wilder, An Easy Fight For Me!

Former heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs has been making a lot of headlines lately, as he continues to stalk unified king Wladimir Klitschko in the strangest of places. Regarding his thoughts on another American heavyweight, big banger Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31KOs), Briggs is less than impressed and believes a potentially fight would result in an easy win.

Wilder returns on Saturday night in a stay-busy fight against Jason Gavern at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. 

"‘Beyonce’ Wilder? ‘Beyonce.’ He’s alright, he’s cool. But he ain’t Shannon Briggs, he’s fighting bums. Listen, I’m not going to knock the boy but I will say this, I’d like to fight him. I’ll fight him anytime, that’s an easy fight, no doubt. That’s an easy fight," Briggs told On The Ropes Boxing Radio.

"I don’t even want to fight ‘Beyonce.’ I want to fight the heavyweight champion of the world, Wladimir Klitschko, that’s who I want to fight. These other guys, they don’t mean nothing. Good luck but they got a long way to go."

"I put my dues in, I already paid my dues. This [Wilder] is a Shelly Finkel hype job, we’ve already seen that in Michael Grant, you feel me? We’ve already seen that, we want to see something new, but something old but new. Shannon Briggs aka old fresh!"
