Shane Mosley Jr., Jesse Magdaleno, Jose Ramirez Win

By Rick Reeno

Cosmopolitan Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas - Middleweight prospect Shane Mosley Jr. (2-0, 2KOs) blew away Jerome Jones (1-1-1, 1KO) in one round. Mosley dropped him with a hard hook ad then finished him off with a series of unanswered punches.

Unbeaten super bantamweight Jesse Magdaleno (19-0, 15KOs) stopped Carlos Rodriguez (18-15-4, 10KOs). Rodriguez was down three times in the fight. He also lost a point in round six for spitting out the mouthpiece to buy himself more time after going down from a hard body shot. After taking a beating in the seventh, referee Robert Byrd jumped in to wave things off.

Junior welterweight prospect Jose Ramirez (11-0, 8KOs) was taken the eight round distance in a one-sided beat down of Alfredo Romero (7-4, 6KOs), who was punished round after round but never went away and used his survival instincts to grab whenever he found himself in serious trouble. The scores were 80-72, 80-72, 80-71.

Undefeated super featherweight Erick De Leon (8-0, 4KOs), who is trained by Robert Garcia, stopped Pedro Toledo (2-2-2) in the fifth round of action. Toledo, who took punishment in just about every round, was down in the fourth and didn't have much of anything left in the fifth.

Undefeated super featherweight Saul Rodriguez (14-0, 11KOs) drilled Orlando Vazquez (13-5-1, 7KOs) in the second round. Vazquez was dropped hard twice with big punches from Rodriguez. Referee Kenny Bayless waved things off after the second knockdown.

Shame on Romero's corner for not stopping this fight earlier. Shows how much they care about their fighter. doesn't take much to show Romero has heart or that he would have kept going but that was way too many headshots…

And once again, they are still babying Magdaleno and are afraid to take his training wheels off. Typical crap.
