Pablo Sarmiento, the trainer for middleweight champion Sergio Martinez, doesn't give WBA junior middleweight king Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30KOs) any possible chance to pull off an upset on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when he defends his title against Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26KOs).

"There is only one guy who can beat Mayweather, and that's Sergio Martinez. There are three classes of boxers - A, B and C. Mayweather, Martinez and [Manny] Pacquiao are 'A" fighters and Cotto is a 'C' fighter. Cotto can't do anything to Mayweather. My prediction on the fight, Mayweather is going to give him a beating," Sarmiento told BoxingScene.com.

In the past two years, Martinez unsuccessfully pursued fights with both Mayweather and Cotto.

Cotto's adviser, Gaby Peñagarícano, had a good laugh when advised of Sarmiento's comments.

"We'll see on May 5th. I expect [Sarmiento's] call on May 6th. I expect his call on May 6th [requesting a fight with Cotto]," Peñagarícano told BoxingScene.
I don't understand where you get shot from. He fights men all bigger than him, I mean he isn't even a real MW, and he TKO's them all. Foreman was a slick boxer who Cotto outboxed, Mayorga is an aggressive hard hitter who is very big, and Margarito HAD to happen and Cotto fought...
I keep waiting for someone to tell me what either Pirog or Golovkin to make them better than Macklin? Feel free to tell me what I am missing.
There's more intrigue with the other 2 guys. Macklin has been around the block, and has routinely struggled with the type of...
Cotto doesn't know the word scared. That's for *****es like Martinez and his fooled ***ryders buying into this ****. Pavlik was coming out of being in and out of rehab when he lost to Martinez and Williams already got exposed by Quintana, whom he beat in similar fashion to the ...
1) Martinez didn't make any comments "So Martinez comments are not professional" 2) He has called out Chavez many times. 3) If Martinez is a C class fighter right now "Martinez but right now he is in C Class" he wouldn't be ranked #3 P4P according to Ring and #6 on this site...
I am sorry for Martinez but right now he is in C Class, Cotto have fought much better quality than Martinez that is why Floyd pick him, also Cotto is the best third PPV attraction. So Martinez comments are not professional and looks like jealous about Cotto opportunity. Fir...
