Middleweight king and 2010 "Fighter of The Year," Sergio Martinez, is handled by experienced trainer Gabriel Sarmiento. He recently gave his thoughts on the proposed welterweight clash between undefeated WBC champion Andre Berto and southpaw junior welterweight (140 pounds) contender Victor Ortiz.
Sarmiento believes that twice-beaten, 24-year-old Ortiz is already starting to show signs of an early decline. After watching Ortiz fight to a draw with Lamont Peterson in December, Sarmiento became convinced that Ortiz was "going downhill."
"Victor Ortiz, that's it for him. He's done. That guy barely beat Peterson. He didn't do anything to him. He's going downhill already. He needs to go back to work on his boxing because he's going downhill. He needs to find a job," told FanHouse.
