The WBC's emeritus middleweight champion Sergio "Maravilla" Martínez (47-2-2, 26 KOs), says his comeback is possibly not going to happen on July 9 as previously reported. He says there are discussions about pushing the date back to the first or second week of August on HBO. The opponent is not official. Martinez was provided with one name so far, Peter Manfredo Jr., but says the opponent could change three or four times before the August date.

"It's not official, but I already know that I may not fight on July 9, and my fight may go to August. It would be in the first or second week of August," said Martinez to BoxingScene.com's Carlos Irusta. "In theory, I have a opponent. But this can change three or four times. To date, I was told it would be Peter Manfredo Jr. (37-6, 20 KOs). No venue has been set, but I imagine that it would take place in the United States."

How in the world you going to give a fringe fighter peter a fight against the top dawg in his division Martinez? he will ko peter within five rounds unless he quits. make these so call champs and top contenders from 154-160 fight him. Put up the good money to do it.
