Former two division world champion Sergio 'Maravilla' Martinez (51-3-2, 28KOs) will define his future after the World Cup concludes. Even though he is physically able to continue, his manager Sampson Lewkowicz said there is no determination at the present with respect to his fighter's decision to continue boxing.

Earlier this month, Martinez was knocked out in ten rounds by Miguel Cotto at New York's Madison Square Garden.

"He is physically fine. He never had a knee problem. What happened was the first punch. He never saw that punch and that was what caused all of the problems. He never recovered. It was a devastating blow. I think after the World Cup he will make a determination [on his future in boxing]. Right now with the World Cup it is so hard to talk about boxing, because you need a date with the network and agreements. I told him that he needs to be the one to make the decision [on whether he wants to continue fighting]," Sampson said.

I think he recovered physically from the first KD, but mentally conquered by Cotto the rests of the rounds! He needs considerable rests at this moment if he considers continuing his career. Then he should listen to his body if he has that something remains in his tank and of strong determination ...

No one wants to see him fight again. He should just retire in peace without taking more unnecessary punishment.

His fans are all 100% concentrated on the World Cup, holding off to make a decision is the smartest move he can make. I can honestly see him taking a fight in Argentina as the last hoorah. But as far as competitive fights goes, hes shot, his knees are not there anymore. The 12th round with Chavez...

[QUOTE=CubanGuyNYC]If Sergio hasn't set himself up yet, he's in trouble. Cotto and Junior were his two biggest fights. He'll never make that much money ever again. Martinez has no belts and his best days are behind him. I like Maravilla a lot. I hope he's got some options. Something tells me be d...
