| Sergio Martinez Beats Hearn, Wins Frampton-Martinez Bid

By Per Ake Persson Maravilla Box Management of Spain, headed by WBC middleweight champion Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez himself, won the purse bids today in Rome for the mandatory fight between EBU super bantamweight champion Kiko Martinez and challenger Carl Frampton. MBM bid 62,000 EUR, Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Sport finished second best with an offer of 30,001 EUR, while Pat Magee bid 26,000 EUR.
Date and site to be announced.
Frampton, 15-0, stopped Steve Molitor in his last fight - and Molitor actually stepped in for Martinez, 27-3, who suffered an injury. The mandatory challenger for Kiko was then Alexander Bakhtin, but he hase sinc won a world title and Frampton was named as the official challenger. Frampton is tough but good to see Kiko gettin a big fight at home for a change. Unlike Molitor, Kiko can pop. Good fight |

So Frampton is fighitng Kiko Martinez next? Awesome.
I like how Frampton wants to take tough fights. They've tried to make this fight for a while.
Frampton really won me over in the Molitor fight. I wasn't sure on him before that but he really upped his game when he upped his competition.
