WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (51-2-2, 28KOs) has already derailed two of Top Rank's superstars, and now he's eager to take another one down. In April of 2010, Martinez upset Kelly Pavlik to capture the WBC and WBO middleweight titles. After the loss, Pavlik was never the same fighter. In 2012, Martinez dominated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. to reclaim the WBC's middleweight title. Chavez has since left the middleweight division.

On June 7th at New York's Madison Square Garden, Martinez is potentially going to defend his title against three division world champion Miguel Cotto (38-4, 31KOs). Although Cotto is a free agent, Top Rank is negotiating on Cotto's behalf.

"[Top Rank's CEO]  Bob Arum has not done well against me, because first I beat Kelly Pavlik who was his boxer, and later on I beat Julio Cesar Chávez Jr., and I believe that now it's going to be Cotto. But it is also true that with Bob Arum it is always possible to negotiate very well," Martinez told Carlos Irusta.

Two of my favorite fighters going at it in june at MSG. Martinez has one hell of a shot going 3-0 against Arum. I hope Dibella and Arum can give us a decent undercard for this event.

[QUOTE=RiC-DiC]Pavlik's career was derailed by B-Hop and drinking. He spent more time in hospital than training camp, but still dropped Martinez and Sergio barely beat him by decision. Chavez's career was all hype to begin with and he was the slowest, laziest MW paper champ in history AND HE STI...

Two of my favorites but I wanna see Sergio come back strong. He can't go out with the injuries deteriorating his abilities.
