BoxingScene.com and other select members of the media recently spoke to WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (23-0-1, 21KOs) and his team. Kovalev had a successful 2013, going 4-0, and hopes for bigger fights in the coming year.

Kovalev's manager Egis Klimas is very interested in having his fighter face WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson. It appears that Stevenson may face another opponent for his next title defense which would mean a fight against Kovalev may have to wait till the second half of the year.

Klimas said that he has no problems with his fighter facing Andre Ward (27-0, 14KOs) and would consider it an honor if the super middleweight king is willing to move up in weight.

"If he wants to come to 175 there is no question we would want to fight him. It would be an honor and a great fight. It would be a good payday and a great, great fight," Klimas told BoxingScene.com.
