Discussions are taking place for a potential flyweight clash between former champions Hernan 'Tyson' Marquez and Giovani "Guerrero Azteca" Segura, with a tentative date of November 2 in Hermosillo being mentioned. The winner of the fight could become a frontrunner to face WBO/WBA champion Juan Francisco 'Gallo' Estrada. A source in Zanfer Promotions has revealed that the Multipurpose Center in Hermosillo has been reserved.
Marquez (36-3, 26 KO's) and Segura (30-3-1, 26 KO's) have bounced back from their knockouts losses to Brian Viloria. Marquez dominated former champion Carlos Tamara in June, and Segura has a huge win earlier this month when he knocked out highly regarded Puerto Rican prospect Jonathan 'Bomba' Gonzalez in four rounds.Tags: Giovani Segura , Hernan Marquez
