Segura May Face Pingo Miranda First, Then Viloria

BoxingScene.com has been advised that former 108 pound WBO/WBA/Ring Magazine champion Giovani "El Guerrero Azteca" Segura's team is in negotiations to face former WBO 112 pound champion Pingo Miranda.  The fight will most likely take place in Mexicali, Mexico late this summer or in the early fall.

Segura is the mandatory challenger to WBO flyweight champion Brian Viloria who won the title from Miranda last month. BoxingScene has been advised that Viloria won't be ready to defend his belt until December.

In the mean time Segura plans on facing Miranda in a fight for the WBO-interm title. The winner will then face Viloria.

Segura has been one of the more active champions in recent years. Should he defeat Miranda, the fight against Viloria would be Segura's 4th fight of the year.

miranda is a very bad style for segura, the fight will probably look like segura vs vargas, where segura took a lot of unnecesary punishment by going to war but miranda has some serious power if he connects with his…

Segura is too big for Viloria, easy KO for Segura, and Miranda is just a warm-up stepping stone for Segura to destroy viloria.

Segura vs Viloria is obviously the more desirable fight, but either way, Segura vs Miranda has war written all over it.

It says that Viloria won't be ready until December, therefore, Segura doesn't want to sit around inactive for 6 months. Miranda is a solid opponent for a stay busy fight. War Segura!:boxing:
