Scott Quigg Punishes Booth, TKO To Grab British Title
By Pawel Pronishev
Reebok Stadium, Bolton - Scott Quigg (23-0, 16KOs) stopped Jason Booth (36-8, 15KOs) in seven rounds to capture the British super bantamweight title. Booth was crafty in the first four rounds with his defense and movement, but the younger Quigg started doing a number on the champion in the fifth. Quigg continued to put a beating on Booth in the sixth and seventh rounds. Enough was enough, as promoter Frank Maloney entered Booth's corner and they made a team decision to stop the fight before the eight round.
Been impressed with Quigg for a while. Didn't see the fight last night but am not surprised how it went down. Quigg Frampton shouldn' be too far away - an exciting match up for sure.Comment by project xxx1 on 10-22-2011
