Scott Quigg is feeling very confident ahead of his WBA super-bantamweight title fight with South African Tshifhiwa Munyai in Manchester on Saturday night.

Quigg faces late replacement Munyai, known as the 'Atomic Spider', in the second defence of his title at the Phones 4u Arena after Nehomar Cermeno pulled out because of visa issues.

The Bury fighter, who is looking to extend his unbeaten record to 30 fights against Munyai, told Sky Sports News: "I'm feeling very confident, we had a late change of opponent but things like that happen in boxing.

"I am 100 percent prepared for whatever he brings, and I am confident of making it unbeaten in 30 fights.

"It's not ideal, we were preparing for Nehomar Cermeno. All the work was done so we just have to adapt - it's just part and parcel of boxing. I just have to do what I know I have to do and whatever he brings I know I'm going to have an answer. I am going to squat the 'Atomic Spider'.

"I know he's dangerous, durable, tough and he's ranked number nine in the world. He brings danger, with just over ten days notice we have had to nail down what he is good at and I think we have ticked all the boxes, I am 100 percent ready."

Quigg beat Diego Silva in two rounds in the same arena as the chief-support to Carl Froch's victory over George Groves last November and he is delighted to be back in Manchester.

He said: "It's good to be back so close to my home town so soon, it was a great night on the Froch and Groves undercard but for me to be back there topping and headlining the show like Froch, Groves, Joe Calzaghe and many of the best fighters have done - I pinch myself.

"My main focus is to turn up on Saturday night and I have got to do the job and win and win in style and that will open the door to maybe a fight with Kiko Martinez, Leo Santa Cruz and Carl Frampton.

"They are the sort of fights I want but the main one is Saturday and I have to take care of business because if I don't they won't happen."

Watch Scott Quigg defend his WBA super-bantamweight title against Tshifhiwa Munyai live on Sky Sports 2, Saturday 7pm
Rigondeaux double doors are open.
Notice how Quigg mentioned Kiko, Santa Cruz, and Frampton? But not one peep about Rigo. :lol1: The Cuban has them shook.

As long as that door doesn't have a fellow named Carl Frampton standing behind it.
