Richard Schaefer, CEO for Golden Boy Promotions, advised BoxingScene.com that various parties not directly involved in the ongoing negotiations are spreading misinformation as it relates to the details of a potential fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs) and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs).

In several recent articles, a few camp members were claiming that Mayweather refuses to fight above the welterweight limit of 147-pounds. Schaefer disputes the information being circulated says there is no issue regarding weight.

“Whoever is talking, discussing or stating that there is a weight issue regarding a potential Mayweather vs. Canelo fight does not know what they are talking about.  This is all bullsh*t. Let the professionals do their job and the amateurs should stay out of it. It is amazing how people make up all these stories just to see their name in the news. This is how you kill fights and not how you make them. I know that the world awaits to get this fight done but lets stop with all these bullsh*t stories," Schaefer stated to BoxingScene.com.
