Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer advised BoxingScene.com that WBA welterweight champion Adrien Broner (27-0, 22KOs) will likely return on a Showtime televised date in November. Broner last fought in June, when he moved up by two weight divisions to capture the welterweight crown from Paulie Malignaggi with a twelve round split decision.

Schaefer has pulled off some big fights in the last few weeks. He finalized Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. He finalized Danny Garcia vs. Lucas Matthysse. And now the fans are demanding a fight between Broner and dangerous puncher Marcos Maidana (34-3, 31KOs).

"It's funny, I was actually telling one of your colleagues about two weeks ago, when everyone was questioning me about Matthysse and Garcia - I said that within less than 24 hours of getting Garcia and Matthysse done, everybody will hound me about whether I will get Broner and Maidana done. And I don't blame them for that. So will be having conversations about that," Schaefer told BoxingScene.com.

Before Schaefer proceeds with serious discussions regarding a fight with Maidana, he needs to sit down with Broner, and the boxer's adviser Al Haymon, in order to determine which weight class Broner intends to call home. While holds the WBA's title at 147, he also holds the WBC's title at 135-pounds. There is also the possibility that Broner will drop down to junior welterweight to pursue another championship.

"The question is going to be, and I'm going to discuss this with Al and Team Broner - what does Broner want do? Does he want to stay at 147. He has the 135 title as well. What does he want to do? Does he want to do 135, does he want to do 147 or does he want to go pick up another belt at 140. The first order of business is the weight class that Adrien Broner wants to fight in," Schaefer said.

"After his last fight, at the press conference, Adrien said that he wanted the fans to pick his next opponent. There was a poll, I don't remember if it was on The Ring or if it was on your site, but Maidana was the overwhelming favorite in that poll. But at the end of the day we have to see if Broner wants to fight at 147. That is going to be the question."
