While Billy Joe Saunders is refusing to overlook Martin Murray, he already has a clear plan if he retains his WBO World Middleweight crown on April 14th.

With Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin set for a rematch on May 5th, Saunders hopes to face the winner later in 2018. The unbeaten southpaw describes the potential Middleweight unification as a "quest" and his "mission".

"I should be beating the likes of Willie Monroe. I should be dealing with David Lemieux because I know what I'm on a quest to do, I know what my mission is," he told iFL. "If I can't be dealing with them, then in my own head this mission's a big fairy tale.

"I know what I'm going to do. I want the winner of Golovkin and Canelo. Please god Golovkin wins - rightly so because he did last time - and I will hold all the titles. Every single one of them by the end of this year!"

In December, Saunders comprehensively out-boxed heavy-handed contender Lemieux in Montreal, and earned plenty of praise on both sides of the Atlantic. Although he recently described the victory as "bad for business" as it may have put other Middleweights off facing him.

GGG v Jacobs

Contender Danny Jacobs unsuccessfully challenged Golovkin last March, losing a unanimous decision. Since the defeat, the American has been linked with Saunders.

The 28-year-old believes he would have no problem with Jacobs: "Yeah he's good but one million percent I'm better!"

A bout seems unlikely for now since Jacobs signed with a rival promoter last year, but Billy Joe would be open to the fight if both teams can agree a deal.

"If they can make it financially work, viable for both of us, then I'm sure that me and him haven't got a problem fighting each other."
