With less than a month to go until he travels to Canada, Billy Joe Saunders is relaxed about taking on former IBF world champion David Lemieux in his hometown at Bell Place in Laval.
Saunders puts his WBO world middleweight crown on the line against the heavy-handed Lemieux, and admits he wants a convincing win to avoid any doubts should the judges be required.
"The way you've got to look at it, the whole world will be watching this fight," Saunders explained to iFL TV.
"I will make it as hard or as easy as I want to make this fight. I will beat him convincingly enough where they won't be able to rob me. I will beat him convincingly," repeated the Englishman.
"He's a good fighter, he's been in with [Gennady] Golovkin. He's been in the ring with one good man and got stopped. No shame in it, he got stopped by Golovkin.
"Anywhere you go the home fighter always gets a close decision, so I can't afford to let it be close," said Saunders. "If I didn't think I couldn't beat him convincingly, I wouldn't go!"
Lemieux has been vocal about the fight on Twitter, and recently warned "one month until you hit the canvas".
Saunders, though, is unimpressed with his taunts after the Canadian was silent at the recent press conference but acts tough on social media.
"When I got to his face he didn't want to say nothing at all. He got told in his own country. I've heard it all before," Saunders said.
