Lightweight Saul Rodriguez will return to the ring on March 12, Top Rank matchmaker Brad Goodman told BoxingScene.com over the weekend.
The bout will headline a Top Rank card and will take place in the Los Angeles area or in Riverside, Rodriguez's hometown.
"He will fight in an eight or 10 round bout," said Goodman, adding he is still looking for an opponent for Rodriguez.
Rodriguez (19-0-1, 14 KOs) has slowly evolved into a contender over his last couple of fights with impressive results.
In his last bout on November 20, Rodriguez scored a first round technical knockout over Ivan Najera in Las Vegas, Nev.
Rodriguez, who is one of Top Rank's top young fighters, also has recent wins over Ramsey Luna and Antonio Capulin.
The 22-year-old Rodriguez is trained by Robert Garcia.
