Could the biggest fight in Mexican boxing land in Las Vegas? Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum says a possible fight between Mexican rivals Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez could take place in the month of March, instead of April, and at 158-pounds, which is one pound above the proposed catch-weight of 157. Arum is still discussing the possibility of such a fight with Alvarez's promoter, Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions.
Chavez, the WBC middleweight champion, would go down by two pounds and Alvarez, the WBC champion at 154, would come up by four pounds
"The fight is going to be agreed upon for 158 pounds," said Arum, who hopes to reach an agreement in the coming weeks. "but will be in March at a Las Vegas casino.
