| Saul Alvarez: Morales Was Robbed, He Wins a Rematch

By Jhonny Gonzalez WBC junior middleweight champion Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez is upset with Saturday's decision at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The undefeated Mexican star does not agree with the three judges who gave Marcos Maidana a twelve round majority decision over former three division champion Erik Morales. Alvarez saw Morales as the clear winner and said "it was a robbery" when asked for his opinion on the final outcome. Before the fight took place, Alvarez told reporters that Morales would end up winning. There is talk of a possible rematch, and Alvarez is once again predicting a big win for Morales. He thinks Morales would have an easier time in a second meeting. "In a rematch, Morales would win easily," Alvarez said. It thought the fight was a narrow win to Maidana, although no one could have complained about a draw. Morales threw the much more accurate punches but Maidana just threw far more and finished stronger. |
