Sauerland Plays Down Groves, Cleverly Sparring Beef

Mikkel Kessler's promoter Kalle Sauerland has reported the WBA super middleweight champion to be in rude health. Kessler arrived in the UK on Tuesday and immediately went to the Hayemaker Gym in Vauxhall for a media workout session. Sauerland was at the gym in good time and told Sky Sports the nation of Denmark would be behind their man on Saturday night. As for Kessler's controversial sparring with Brits George Groves and Nathan Cleverly, Sauerland played it down.

Froch has been very angry with his countrymen for helping Kessler with his training camp.

"This isn't the Olympics - Saturday night is about using every method to win and the methods we've been to was to get the best sparring," he said to Sky Sports. "It couldn't have gone any better, there are no excuses or ash clouds like there were last time for Carl, he's arrived in good time and he's in good spirits."
