Despite Paul Smith (35-3, 20KOs) announcing the fight on Sky Sports' Ringside, and the numerous UK press clipping discussing the fight as a done deal, promoters Sauerland Event made it known that title fight between Smith and WBO king Arthur Abraham (40-4, 28KOs) has not been finalized, as of yet, for September 27th in Germany.

"Just to confirm Abraham vs. Smith is not done. It is a fight we are interested in doing but we have not reached an agreement as of yet" - Sauerland put out in a statement.

Smith claimed, during his Ringside appearance, that he was informed that a deal was reached for Abraham. The British contender said his promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport, was only waiting for the final word of a venue being secured in Germany.
