Arturo “Rey” Santos, who fights Abner Mares this Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, is likely to have fireworks. Santos doesn't feel any less for not being the favorite to beat Mares, a former three time world champion. The fight will be part of the NBC televised 'Premier Boxing Champions' tripleheader event.

“Inside the ring history doesn’t count. It's going to be the one who completed the better training, and that's me. I've never liked to make declarations. In the past I've faced a three time world champion [Fernando Montiel], and his experience didn’t help him. Fans and boxing experts  saw I won that match, and this time I'm coming in ten times more prepared as I know Abner well. I know all of his skills. The only thing that I can promise is that I am going to do my best in order to get the victory,” claimed the former Olympic boxer of Beijing 2008.

"I will try to win from the very first minute of the bout. I have what it takes and I am really motivated for this opportunity. On this card presented by Promociones del Pueblo in the United States I want to establish a legacy!”
