Leo Santa Cruz (27-0, 15KOs) will defend his WBC Super bantamweight crown on September 13th, as part of the Floyd Mayweather Jr-Marcos Maidana II undercard at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, against an opponent yet to be named. After that...he's greatly looking forward to a unification against WBA/WBO champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (14-0, 9KOs), who a few days ago challenged him.
"Guillermo talks a lot, claiming to be the best and that no fighter wants to face him. I'll fight him whenever and wherever he wants. I'd even fight him tomorrow! I hope it'll happen as soon as possible because I'm sure the fans will love it," smiled Leo.
"Rigondeaux is a great fighter and one of the best at this moment but he's not invincible! A victory over him will boost my career and that's what I want. Whoever wins is simply the best!"
Santa Cruz confirms that he plans to make three more defenses of his crown, and then move up a division and try to and conquer the WBC featherweight crown, held by Jhonny Gonzalez.Tags: Guillermo Rigondeaux , Leo Santa Cruz
