So what does Abel Sanchez, trainer of WBC, WBA, IBF, IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0-1, 33 KOs), think of the growing perception that in the upcoming rematch against Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs), that it's the Mexican who has the advantage going in because of Golovkin's age and that it's Alvarez who is more capable of making adjustments when they meet again on May 5th?

Last weekend, Sanchez led Murat Gassiev to victory over the game Yunier Dorticos in Russia to unify the WBA, IBF cruiserweight titles in the World Boxing Super Series.

In the last few days, Canelo has been promising to avoid any possibility of going to the judges by knocking Golovkin - and that type of talk is music to Sanchez's ears.

"If Canelo decides - as he's been talking about again - about knocking out Golovkin... I think if he goes out and tries to do that we're going to be treated to a good fight," Sanchez said.

Back on September 16th when they first met at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the fight was ruled as a twelve round split draw.

"In the last fight we were cheated, I think, because the tactics were more of a Floyd Mayweather tactic to try to beat Golovkin and you're not going to beat Golovkin that way," continued Sanchez.

"You're going to have to go after Golovkin to beat him. If he does that he's going to put himself in a position to get him. And if he gets hit who knows what's going to happen."

The initial encounter heated up late with both fighters trading freely. It's certainly the type of fight that Sanchez says he would welcome.

He said to BoxingScene - "It could go either way, if Canelo's good enough to hurt Golovkin then we're going to find out what we have in front of us."
