| Samuel Peter-Maurice Harris Possible in IBF Eliminator
|
|
By Ruslan Chikov After Tomasz Adamek signed a contract to face IBO/IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, he was dropped from a possible IBF eliminator with Samuel Peter (34-4, 27KOs). A possible name to replace Adamek, against Peter, is Maurice Harris (24-14, 10KOs). Harris is an upset minded fighter who faces everyone. Since his return to the sport last year after a three year layoff, Harris beat Billy Zumbrun, Robert Hawkins, Julius Long and Nagy Aguilera. The head of the IBF's championship committee, Lindsey Tucker, told Alexander Pavlov that an offer has been sent to Harris. Tucker doesn't know if Harris plans to accept the fight. If Harris does accept, the winner of his bout with Peter will have to face the winner of the other IBF eliminator between Eddy Chambers and Derric Rossy on February 12. The IBF recycles the most old contenders like Peter. Each of the alphabet bandits has a problem with how there organzations are runned. The IBF's problem is how they rate the boxers. |
