| Salido: My Nose Was Broken Too, Mexicans Don't Quit!
By Miguel Rivera Featherweight Orlando Salido feels he was not given a full fight versus Mikey Garcia last night in New York City. Following the match, Salido who went to Roosevelt Hospital for a check up, and tests revealed that he suffered a broken nose. The former champion is not exactly sure when he suffered the injury, but he believes his nose was busted in the early rounds. Salido was knocked down four times and lost an eight round technical decision. The fight was stopped after an accident head clash, which broke the nose of Garcia. Salido feels the Garcia corner knew he was coming on in the fight and they infuenced the doctor to stop the action. "I had a real broken nose in the fight. I felt sick this morning because I feel like my belt was stolen. If Mikey Garcia is a real champion he will give me a rematch. He was getting tired, his punches lost their power and he felt me coming on. I felt that in a couple of more rounds I could have stopped him. He can call himself champion but until he beats me, not the doctor, I feel like I am still the champion. Real Mexicans don't quit," Salido said. [QUOTE=Prince_Pugilist]Ok, finally got to see this fight. Garcia dominated almost every round, he started far better than I expected and made Salido look lost at sea throughout the fight. I do think Salido had his best round in the 7th and possibly won that. The headbutt for me looks accidental, ... |

The only and big difference is that Garcia broke his nose with his hands. Salido got dirty out of frustration while loosing in all cards. It was his way out of the fight, so I wouldn't talking about the heart of Mexicans if I was in his shoes. |

this whole thing is rediculous its the same idea as if the head butt caused a cut to make the fight get stopped by the doctor both punches and headbutts can cause cuts and apparently occasionally a broken nose its just more rare. But it occured from an illegal blow giving salido an unfair advanta... |
