| Salido Confident of Derailing Garcia, Open To Cruz Bout

By Jhonny Gonzalez WBO featherweight champion Orlando Salido (39-11-2, 27KOs) is confident that he will defeat Mikey Garcia (29-0, 25KOs). According to Salido, the fight is likely being rescheduled for February. After watching some of Garcia's fights, Salido feels that his style is very similar to Juan Manuel Lopez. Salido knocked out Juanma in both of their fights. "When I fought with [Juan Manuel] Lopez, the promotion revolved around him. [And it's the same with] Garcia. I derailed the plans [they had with Lopez]. And I will do the same this time. Garcia is a fighter who stands still, doesn't move around much and comes forward. Also like Juanma....[Garcia] doesn't fight well going backwards," Salido told Jose Sanchez. If Salido wins, he is open to the idea of fighting Puerto Rico's Orlando Cruz (19-2-1, 9KOs). A few weeks ago, Cruz made national headlines after announcing he was gay. "I have no problem with that [fight]," said Salido. I still cant believe this fight is happening in PR between Garcia vs Salido it should be the main event. I like the the fight between Vazquez Jr vs JuanMa but that fight should be the undercard. Perfect place for this fight to take place would be in Chicago where their is a lot of Mexicans and Pu... |
