Salido is Back, Knocks Cruz Out in Seven For WBO Gold

Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas - Orlando Salido (40-12-2, 28KOs) has brought his career back on track with a seventh round knockout of Orlando Cruz (20-3-1, 10KOs) to capture the vacant WBO featherweight title.

Cruz moved well and appeared to be the better boxer, but it was Salido who was landing the harder shots, doing the most damage, and putting together hard combinations to push Cruz back. In the seventh, Salido was blasting away with punches and landed a series of shots to the head and body, which sent Cruz down for the count.

Hopefully Salido keeps good care of the belt,so he can hand it to Lomachenko in January :)

Salido is a terrific FIGHTER, plain and simple -- a throwback to an earlier era -- it's a pleasure watching him -- he's may not be a glamor boy or PPF candidate BUT knows how to fight with deceptive skills....

God that was a horrible fight. It was more spectacle than boxing match. Cruz was in no way on the same level as Salido. You could tell Salido really wanted to get rid of Cruz as soon as possible. Regardless,…
