Salgado Suffers a Cut Early, No Contest With Beltran Jr.
By Miguel Rivera
Estadio Centenario, Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico - Making his first defense of the IBF super featherweight world title, Mexico's Juan Carlos Salgado (24-1-1, 16 KOs) had to settle for a no-contest after suffering a bad cut above his left eye in the second round. The cut came after an unintentional clash of heads with tough Mexican challenger Miguel Beltran Jr. (26-2, 17 KOs). The ringside doctor would not allow Salgado to continue.
