Originally lightweight prospect Ryan 'Blue Chip' Martin was scheduled to face veteran Fermin De Los Santos on Saturday night at the Forum. But those plans were scuttled earlier this week.
"(De Los Santos) got stopped at customs on Tuesday night," Timothy Van Newhouse, explained to BoxingScene.com. But the manager - with the help of Sean Gibbons - was able to secure a new opponent, Cesar Villarraga, who comes in with a record of 9-1 (4 KO's).
"He had over 250 amateur fights, he was a Colombian Olympian, who's signed with Thompson Boxing Promotions and he's living here in California,"said Van Newhouse, who notes that this eight-rounder will be contested for the WBC Continental Americas title.
For Marti n(15-0, 9 KO's) this will be his third fight in 2016. Earlier this year he stopped Rosbel Montoya in five rounds at the Forum back on April 23rd and on July 16th he decisioned Samuel Amoako over six rounds in Birmingham, Alabama.
