Last month BoxingScene published an article by Francisco Salazar announcing that Cuban prospect Angelo Santana (14-0) will face Ismael Barroso on the April 12th edition of ShoBox.
BoxingScene has now been advised that the fight will take place at the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. and that the other televised fight will be a battle of undefeated light heavyweights. Ryan Coyne (21-0) will take on Marcus Oliveira (24-0-1). The two were originally scheduled to fight on the Bernard Hopkins versus Tavoris Cloud undercard but Coyne suffered a cut in training camp which postponed the fight.
Coyne said that despite the cut he didn't stop training and is almost on weight now. Coyne-Oliveira is a WBA eliminator to determine Beibut Shumenov's mandatory challenger.
"I never stopped training. I've been busting my ass in the gym and I am itching to get back in the ring. I am already at 180 pounds and April 12th can't get here soon enough," Coyne told BoxingScene.com.
