According to Andrey Ryabinskiy, a powerful boxing tycoon and the president of the “World of Boxing” promotional company, former WBA heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (26-1, 19 KOs) will not be fighting Ukrainian contender Vyacheslav Glazkov (17-0-1, 11 KOs) as it was recently announced by a number of boxing outlets.

“It is 100% that Glazkov won’t be fighting Alexander”, said Ryabinskiy to ITAR-TASS media agency. “We were never negotiating with Team Glazkov in the first place, so I was very surprised to read anything about it. I think it’s nothing more than an advertisement of a fighter, when he pretends to be a potential opponent. THe right to be Sasha’s next opponent should be earned. Glazkov is a good boxer, and I can’t say anything bad about him. But he has not been on the list of the opponents for Alexander. I’m going to announce Povetkin’s new opponent within a week."
