Former WBA world heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev (27-2-1, 17KOs) will return to the ring in early 2012, says Alexander Pavlov. Universum Promotions plans to bring Chagaev back on January 21 in Stuttgart. Chagaev has been inactive since losing a twelve round unanimous decision to Alexander Povetkin on August 27. Chagaev would like to stay active in 2012, with at least 3 to 4 ring appearances.
