According to Mariusz Kolodziej, founder of Global Boxing, he received an offer to match his boxer, Patrick Majewski (20-1, 13 KOs), against Marco Antonio Rubio (57-6-1, 49 KOs) on July 27 in Mexico, with the WBC interim-middleweight title likely at stake. Rubio is the mandatory challenger to the full middleweight champion Sergio Martinez, who may not fight again until 2014 due to several injuries suffered in his last defense.
