Former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. (62-9, 45KOs) spoke to reporters in Russia and gave no indication of retiring from the ring, but also made no mention of when he would fight again.
Jones, 46-years-old, was brutally knocked out in four rounds on Saturday night by former WBO cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli of the UK.
The fight took place in Moscow, Russia. The loss broke an eight fight win streak. Ironically Jones' last defeat was also a brutal knockout, and also took place in Russia, when he faced WBA cruiserweight champion Denis Lebedev.
Jones officially became a Russian citizen a few weeks ago and seems to have some future plans related to progressing his career in the country.
"Regarding the situation of my last fight, everything has it's time. It was a fair fight. In boxing there is always someone who wins and someone who loses. I am a citizen of Russia and I will make every effort to ensure that Russian boxing is firmly entrenched in the global arena," Jones said.
Jones has been cast to star in a Russian motion picture. He hopes the comedy will be the first of many films in Russian cinema.
