"I am ready and I am sharp.  I have a whole new plan. I'm gonna shock the world with my agility and skill level," says Roy Jones, Jr. ahead of his December 10 showdown with Max Alexander in Atlanta.

Jones has spent most of his time training out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Despite his busy schedule commentating for HBO’s Boxing After Dark series, he has still been able to dedicate himself to training, improving his boxing intensity and conditioning during camp.

At the age of 42 years old, Jones has shown a renewed interest in recapturing past glory as he aims to become Cruiserweight champion.  Based on what he’s shown in the gym ahead of the December 10 bout, Jones continues to prove that age is nothing but a number.

"It is a simple matter of a weight adjustment, in which he has had plenty of time and training to make that adjustment. You are going to see a totally new and improved Roy Jones, Jr,” states one camp insider.

At last week’s press conference, Jones was asked by a fan in what round he would knock out Alexander.

"In the first round that Max slips, that’s the round he is going down,” Jones replied. “That may be the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or even the 10th.  But, whenever it is, I will knock him out in the first round that he slips, I am ready!"

Roy Jones, Jr. will be fighting live in Atlanta, GA on Saturday Dec. 10, 2011 against Max Alexander for the UBO Intercontinental Cruiserweight Title and the IBS National Cruiserweight Title.  The fight will take place at the Atlanta Civic Center.

You can buy tickets at Ticketmaster.com.  Tickets are going fast so buy your tickets now!  If you cannot attend this event live, you can watch it Live on Internet Pay-Per-View via Ustream.Tv for $9.99.  The live fight card will start at 7:00 pm Eastern time.

[QUOTE=Achille]Some of you guys crack me up with your hatred of RJJ; just because he made it look so easy in his prime the way he beat fighters. So you trying to tell me RJJ never got hit flush his whole career until he was Ko’ed by Tarver, Johnson etc? I could have sworn before he moved to HW a...

some of you are overreacting a bit. I say let him do what he wants, the idea that these last couple of fights spoil his whole career is overly sentimental and ridiculous. of course if he looks terrible or is cut badly then the appropriate action should be taken, but it's more likely he will show ...

A pointless exercise that sends the message that fistic ego and pride takes precedent over health and happiness. Roy has a silver tongue as an HBO commentator. It is his misfortune to also have a chin of glass and reflexes that have deteriorated to a highly dramatic extent. The life span of th...
