Michelle Rosado, of Raging Babe Events, wears many hats in the boxing community. From Marketing to Promoting, Michelle has countless sleepless nights because of her love for the "Sweet Science". The upcoming weekend is especially hectic for the "Raging Babe".
On Friday, January 18th, she will be holding her first event under the Raging Babe Events banner (formerly known as Face to Face events) at the Arizona Event Center in Mesa, AZ presented by Hennessy V.S. and LIVE for the world to see on GFL.tv. The name change in her promotional company signifies more than just a name change. Michelle describes the name as "Raging Babe is an attitude, its a grind, an everyday hustle, its a business pursuit
.based on loyalty, passion, and determination." Michelle isn't the only "Raging Babe" she has recruited other women in the boxing community who have various backgrounds. Michelle looks for "A fierce independent go-getter who knows what she wants and fights for what she believe in" when she is recruiting fellow "Raging Babes".
"Mayhem in Mesa" this Friday has been months of hard work in the making for Michelle. Through her persistence, hard work, and dedication she has overcome various obstacles that tried to impede the first Pro Boxing event in Mesa in quite some time. Many scratch their head as to why Michelle chose Mesa, AZ for such a significant event in her promoting career. She explained "Mesa is a big city with a small town feel. The community loves their city and their boxing. I want to be a part of revitalizing Mesa by bringing events to the city." Michelle refused to just restrict such as significant event for her just to Mesa or even just to AZ in that matter.
Shortly after the date was set, she reached a deal with GFL.tv to not only stream the entire card WORDWIDE for the low price of $9.99 but she also made sure the troops over in Iraq & Afghanistan are allowed to view the entire event on GFL.tv for no charge. "The US troops are overseas, away from their loved ones, fighting for our freedom so I hope the ability to watch "Mayhem in Mesa" for free allows them to smile and have some fun. I appreciate them so much there is no words to describe so I jumped at the chance to put my appreciation into action."
The entire card is packed with local AZ fan favorites. The main event will see Jose Marrufo face David Yanez in what is expected to be a bloody war. "The way these two fight, neither will leave the ring with a pretty face" exclaimed Michelle. Emilio Colon-Garcia, who is affectionately known in the AZ boxing circles and too his fans as MILO-time, will be returning to face a very spirited Jesus Pancheo. Many AZ boxing pundits describe "MILO-time"s style as "Cotto esque". Also after a long absence due to extenuating circumstance, Arlo Argueta will take on the slick Marcos Diaz.
"With only 3 days before the fight, Chris & Arlo's oppenents pulled out for various reasons. I had to find legitimate foes for both men so I give tons of credit to Johnny & Marcos for stepping up and stepping in to go to war" Michelle shared with us. Rounding out the card is Bobby Lopez vs. Victor Arreloa, and the Pro Debut of the slick, young, and extremely talented Brandon Riddell as he takes on Eric McNorris.
After "Mayhem in Mesa" there is no break for the "Raging Babe". "I am immediately leaving my event and jumping in a taxi with my 50 pound suitcase to catch the 12:55am red-eye to NY. I wouldnt miss Gabbys (Gabe Rosado) fight for anything. Our team is very strong and loyal and we stick together at all times." explains Michelle. Many in the boxing community think Gabe and Michelle are related. Michelle is quick to clear that up by explaining "I take care of his Marketing Management. Anything from branding, digital business development, financial acquisitions, and some media relations. Even though Gabe is a huge underdog against Gennady Golvokin, many experts expect his attempt to capture the WBA Middleweight Title to be an absolute slobber knocker while it lasts.
Michelle, who looks at Jackie Kallen as an idol and a mentor, shared "At a very young age I was captivated by the "Sweet Science". My relationship with the sport was love at first sight and to this day is undying. The fighters pour their "Blood, sweat, and tears" into their craft and I try to do the same when I promote events or work with fighters. In my mind the sleepless nights, the stress, and anxiety are all worth to leave my mark on the boxing world."
When Michelle first started to promote she realized there wasn't much glitz and glamour especially being a woman.
"People felt because I am a woman that I was weak and they could walk all over me. Trust me this is not the case. Some fighters even refuse to fight under the "Raging Babe" banner" shared Michelle. Whether she is putting together the venue herself, dropping off tickets, hanging banner she will not be deterred while trying to cement her legacy. Do not let her good looks fool you, she is just as fierce outside the ring as many fighters are inside the ring.
"I would like to thank everyone that works with Raging Babe Events because their hard work helps me from losing my mind. Also a special thanks my sister "Turtle" (Jenny Rosado). She really steps up when times get tough and helps me soldier through them" exclaimed Michelle. With all of the hard work about to pay off Michelle reminds everyone "If you can't make it down to the Arizona Event Center, tune in on GFL.tv and witness this very exciting event in it's entirety. Also make sure to check out RagingBabe.com or follow me on twitter @M_Ragingbabe for details on my further events!"
